Teleradiography
How many photographs do you have of your face? I’m sure it doesn’t count! This exam is just another photograph of your head… only this time, inside! You can see all the bones of your face… in full size!
Teleradiography is a frontal or lateral radiograph of the face, with the purpose of evaluating the relationship between the bones of the face and the teeth. It is an examination that is performed with the photographic plate outside the mouth and with the X-ray apparatus located at a great distance from the patient’s skull. It is indicated for the diagnosis of cavities, bone changes, abscesses, signs of periodontal disease, developmental abnormalities, tumors, evidence of trauma and systemic diseases.
