Intraoral X-ray

Dürr Dental

Dürr Dental, German company with 8 decades of business success in the field of dental medicine.

Anyone who has ever seen a “Superman” or “Superwoman” movie, put your finger in the air! Almost all of us! But what do the most powerful cousins of superhero movies have in common with our clinic? 1: they practice good; 2: one of their most impressive powers is X-ray vision! This power gives them the ability to see through objects, people and even walls, besides they can see if there are broken bones or any fractures in the victims of the villains of history!

But in oral health there are also villains? Sure! For example, tooth decay, which is able to destroy the inside of your tooth. It is then that our radiographic examination takes effect, usually performed at the first consultation, being the main complement to diagnosis, planning and treatment. Intraoral X-ray is used for the dentist to observe with maximum accuracy all problems that may exist inside a mouth, such as: dental cavities, bone health of the surrounding area of a tooth, state and development of teeth and their monitoring.

Into A Clínica Dr. Pedro Mota will find the latest generation of radiological diagnostic devices, which allows exclusively digital imaging services.

What types of intraoral X-rays are there?

Occlusal

Examination through which the relationship between the two arcades is studied, that is, the way in which the upper and lower teeth fit (bite).

Periapicais

Examination by which one or more teeth are isolated to examine with greater precision the crown, root, bone tissue and periodontal space. It is used for caries diagnosis.

BITE WING

Examination through which the state of the crown and periodontal tissue is assessed, as well as detecting possible pulpal changes. This type of X-ray allows you to locate cavities located in the space between two teeth. It is recommended especially for children, because it is not necessary to place films on the oral floor and therefore it is a much faster and more comfortable exam.
