Oral rehabilitation

What happens when you don’t properly take care of the pillars that support a building? The whole work can damage and even collapse.
With teeth, it is the same, since lack of attention implies serious problems not only in the mouth, but also in various organs of our body.

What is oral rehabilitation?

It is the area of dental medicine that deals with the recovery of function and aesthetics of each patient who seeks us.

Corrects problems of oral cavity structures (dental, gingival or bone), recovering its functionality and aesthetics, through structures made in the laboratory that can go from a simple crown on a root of a natural tooth to more complex work, as a fixed total prosthesis over implants on the same day.

What are the benefits of oral rehabilitation?

At the functional level: oral rehabilitation methods return normal mouth function, speaking, chewing, food tasting and smiling. Thus correcting the bone, joint and muscle structures, eliminating constraints to each patient. In a safe and effective way, and with the support of technology and at the forefront of dentistry, reducing the number of visits to clinics and less invasive methods for the patient.

At the aesthetic level: the dental rehabilitation treatments used contribute to promote facial harmony and symmetry, achieving a rejuvenated look and a perfect smile.

Is it completely dentate?

Dental rehabilitation returns your smile with fixed prostheses on implants or removable dentures. Have the smile of when you were young, chew again and smile without fears and prejudices.

Lack of teeth is a problem that affects the quality of life of many Portuguese, but which has a solution: fixed prosthesis over implants. Through the hybrid prosthesis is returned comfort, aesthetics and masticatory function to patients, being possible oral rehabilitation of all upper and/or lower arch. Dental implants replace the roots of teeth, serving as a basis for the support of prostheses. Thus ensuring greater stability for the patient, far superior to removable or semi-fixed prostheses. Its zirconium material is more resistant, accumulates less plaque and is aesthetically very similar to natural teeth.

About the advantages of this prosthesis, we can say that:
Improves the masticatory function, hence the ability to taste food;
Improves phonetics, as it has no “mouth sky” does not intervene in the way of speaking;
Improves aesthetics, because it is what most closely resembles natural dentition;
Preserves the bone tissue by providing support to the muscles to stay firm;
Durability, 5 years in our clinic, provided that you attend regular consultations;
Improves confidence, because you will want to smile again, without fears;
Greater comfort, without associated injuries or fixative creams.

Implant surgery may seem like a complicated process, but in reality it becomes a simple, quick and painless process. It is performed under local anesthesia, and if needed, you can always have the hand of our friendly assistants. There is no reason to be afraid, but when it is difficult to control we resort to conscious sedation, a non-invasive and completely safe technique: inhalation of nitric oxide through a mask. This way the patient is calmer, more awake, but less anxious during surgery.

In the postoperative period of dental rebilitation, the implantologist will prescribe painkillers and antibiotics, and if you follow all indicated care, recovery will be easy. And it will be easier, because we have the Endoret®️ (PRGF®️) = 100% autologous technology, which counts with you for rapid recovery from surgery. Doesn’t make sense? Let us explain better: regenerative medicine has evolved, and today it is possible to use our body’s resources for self-benefit, the principle on which Endoret®️ Technology (PRGF®️) is based. This technique allows us to isolate, concentrate and extract growth factors, which are a set of proteins present in our blood, responsible for the natural repair of tissues. This detail allows to accelerate the healing process, decreasing the symptoms of inflammation such as pain and edema, and the risk of infections.

In the traditional technique, after the placement of implants a period of 4 to 6 months is followed without being able to place the crowns on the implants. The immediate loading technique, allows you to leave on the same day of surgery with the temporary crowns or prostheses on the implants. This is possible due to the interconnection between the oral rehabilitation team and the presence of a specialized prosthesis technician on the day of surgery. After 4 to 6 months, we replaced the provisional prosthesis with a definitive one and it will remain with the smile that we designed together.

Does your removable prosthesis lack stability, jumps often and accumulates food remains? This semi-fixed prosthesis, allows to support removed and unstable prostheses through the support of dental implants. These small changes will allow the patient to remove and place the prosthesis on a ‘click’ system, thus allowing for greater comfort of their prosthesis, because it promotes a retention much higher than what existed and at the same time allows you to remove it to do your daily oral hygiene in the most appropriate way.

Commonly called “denture” or “plaque”, it is a solution for those who have lost natural teeth. Prostheses can be acrylic, skeletal or flexible. On the other hand, there are many inconveniences associated with this prosthesis, such as its fragility (they can break when falling to the ground); it can jump while eating and talking; inhibits the masticatory action, not allowing a varied diet and tasting of food.

Are you missing one or more teeth?

The solution is oral rehabilitation with crowns on dental implants or removable dentures.

These are structures made in the laboratory, which can be placed on implants or on natural teeth. After implant placement, it is dental rehabilitation with the crown that will allow the patient to chew, smile and speak. ACrowns are an excellent solution for various situations/problems that may exist in the mouth, such as very extensive cavities or teeth that have already been extensively restored. They thus confer greater resistance to damaged teeth and can also improve aesthetics, since it is possible to correct the shape, color and alignment of the tooth.

Want to change your smile?

Oral rehabilitation offers solutions such as customizing your teeth with crowns or facets, and you will have the smile you always dreamed of.

Give a new shape to your teeth, with a technique that is minimally invasive and harmonious between the naturalness and the aesthetic goal of each patient. Facets are very thin sheaths (ceramic blades), which are placed on the surface of one or more natural teeth to correct the color, shape and size of their teeth in a quick and comfortable way.

Main reasons that lead to the placement of tooth veneers:
Teeth darkened or with enamel malformations (amelogenesis);
Crooked or misaligned teeth;
Chipped or broken teeth;
Tooth spacing (close diastema);
Small changes in the shape and positioning of teeth (changes the aesthetics of the tooth).

What are the advantages of tooth veneers?
Fix aesthetic problems: your teeth get a new color, shape and size;
Fix the damaged enamel: correct various unaesthetic situations such as tooth enamel malformations, old restorations or darkened teeth;
Quick result: in only two consultations has the treatment completed;
Do not suffer color change: unlike natural teeth, facets do not suffer color change;
Pain-free procedure: performed under local anesthesia;
Durability and strength: in our clinic, we use ceramic facets, a very durable material with great durability.

What materials are dental veneers made of?

Depending on each smile and patient, the material is chosen. The facets have greater longevity, maintenance of original color and a more natural tooth appearance.

Putting facets does not mean getting an artificial tooth look or “fridge color”, it means customizing your smile tooth by tooth according to your expectations.
